Suzuki's 'Neo Retro' Cafe Racer SV650X Revealed
Love the Suzuki SV650 but wanted a little bit more out of the styling, well check out this café racer version, dubbed the SV650X.
It's looking like the bike will debut at theTokyo Show on October 27, and it's meant to be an 'evolution of the SV650 Rally concept shown at last year’s event'. This one is just a concept again, but Suzuki confirmed they are assessing market reaction.
In a press release the Japanese firm stated: 'The original concept was designed to pay homage to the tarmac rally cars and bikes of the 1970s.
The new design is ‘neo-retro’ with the SV650X getting a newly-styled bikini fairing and tinted screen along with fog lamps and clip-on handlebars with a tuck-roll seat – already available as a genuine accessory on the SV650.
If market reaction and customer feedback are positive we could be seeing a bike like this on the horizon.
Suzuki GB general manager Paul de Lusignan said: “The SV650 Rally concept generated a lot of interest at last year’s show, with retro-styled machines proving very popular among riders. The SV650X is an evolution of that concept, and shows how that would translate to a production machine.
Currently we cannot confirm a production schedule. We will first assess reactions to the SV650X before finalising plans.”
The release added: 'Suzuki will confirm it’s 2018 model plans before the end of the year.' What are your thoughts on the cafe racer styled SV650X, would you consider one?
