New and Improved 2018 Yamaha MT-07 Details
YAMAHA's stand-out middleweight naked the MT-07 is getting a host of updates for 2018.
Over 92,000 units have been sold since the MT-07's launch in 2014, the MT-07 accounting for 36 per cent of all sales in its category.
Onwards and upwards then, the new MT-07 features an all-new body design, bold headlight, along with a newly designed fuel tank and MT-09-esque air intakes. A new seat and separate black side panels highlight the front-heavy design and make for an altogether a sharper, more imposing and bolder look.
This seat isn't just for show either. That extra wrap around the tank looks to promise an improved level of comfort.
Speaking of comfort, suspension gets an upgrade. There’s 130mm travel now at both front and rear, with the front forks boasting revised settings to provide a sportier feel. And thankfully, the rear shock now gets a new rebound damping adjuster for extra tweaking to suit your riding style.
Yamaha’s 698cc CP2 crossplane engine makes a comfortable 74.8hp and there's also a lower powered A2 variant available.
Yamaha added: ‘With its characterful and torquey crossplane engine, compact chassis, low weight and agile handling, the Yamaha MT-07 is one of the few motorcycles that appeals to all kinds of riders. Male and female owners of all ages and with varying levels of experience have come to love and appreciate the multi-faceted character of this best-selling Hyper Naked – and with a 35kW version also available, the MT-07 is extremely popular with riders who hold an A2 licence.’
The 2018 model is expected in dealerships from March, and comes in three colour options so far: Light Fluo, Yamaha Blue and Tech Black.
