Suzuki 'Katana' Concept By Motociclismo
This year's EICMA was strangely absent of any Suzuki offerings, but you may have noticed a certain ‘Katana 3.0 concept’ on Suzuki’s stand.
No, it's not a future production model, but rather the work of Italian magazine Motociclismo; a GSX-S1000F restyled by Rodolfo Frascoli, designer of Moto Guzzis, Triumph’s 2005-on Speed Triple 1050 and Tiger 1050 among many others.
The bike was built by Engines Engineering to evoke the 1980s classic Katana GSX1100.
Suzuki's SV650X basically amounts to a re-shelled SV650, but with bikes like Kawasaki's Z900RS proving there is a middle ground to be had between nostalgia and performance, Motociclismo's concept Katana does say the same is possible.
Suzuki did make some noise with a GSX-F1000F edition, that was until it was shown to be a new matt black paint scheme and a black exhaust, along with a new name: the GSX-S1000FZ Phantom.
